A Message From Chapter President - Weldon Johnson

Greetings,
Over the past few months we've gained momentum in our efforts to rebuild
AABJ into the dynamic organization it once was. Our efforts at the Arizona
Black Expo, the AABJ holiday party, the State of the Black Press Forum and
our celebration of Black History Month were all steps in the right
direction.

To keep taking those positive strides, however, we need your help. We need
your time, your effort, your energy and your financial contributions.
Though we will accept your dues at any time during the year, we
generally make a push to renew memberships in the spring. Our goal
this year is to have 50 members by April 30. To help us meet that
goal, please complete your membership forms as soon as possible. Your
$25 membership dues fund the operating costs of our organization and
allow any money raised at our fundraising events to go toward our
scholarship fund.

It would be great to see you if you're able to drop off your dues at the
March or April meetings. If not just send it through the mail and make a
meeting or other function when you can.

We have other events on the horizon — the first Arizona Media Diversity
Awards competition, professional development and student workshops — and
look forward to your help in making those events successful.
